About

In 1955 a 270-acre dairy farm was purchased by the Derks family in Chesterville, ON, forming the foundation of what has become Derks Farms Inc. and Derks Elevator Inc.

Unlike standard grain elevators Derks Elevator Inc. not only offers grain drying and storage, we also offer soybean roasting and crushing.  Read more about our services below:

Grain Drying

 If not properly dried, grains can undergo fermentation, sprouting, and microbial growth, resulting in reduced quality and economic losses for farmers. By utilizing a grain dryer, farmers can rapidly remove excess moisture from the grains, reducing the risk of spoilage and enabling long-term storage.

Grain Storage

As a grain elevator we are designed to receive, store, and distribute grains, such as corn and soybeans. We plays a crucial role in the supply chain of these commodities, providing various benefits to farmers, traders, and consumers alike.

Grain Processing

Soybeans, a versatile and protein-rich legume, undergo various processing techniques to unlock their nutritional potential and enhance their flavor. Two popular methods employed in soybean processing are roasting and extrusion. We use both processes as part of our daily operations.
