Services
Unlike standard grain elevators Derks Elevator Inc. not only offers grain drying and storage, we also offer soybean roasting and crushing. Read more about our services below:

Grain Drying
If not properly dried, grains can undergo fermentation, sprouting, and microbial growth, resulting in reduced quality and economic losses for farmers. By utilizing a grain dryer, farmers can rapidly remove excess moisture from the grains, reducing the risk of spoilage and enabling long-term storage.

Grain Storage
As a grain elevator we are designed to receive, store, and distribute grains, such as corn and soybeans. We plays a crucial role in the supply chain of these commodities, providing various benefits to farmers, traders, and consumers alike.

Grain Processing
Soybeans, a versatile and protein-rich legume, undergo various processing techniques to unlock their nutritional potential and enhance their flavor. Two popular methods employed in soybean processing are roasting and extrusion. We use both processes as part of our daily operations.
Products
With an on-site soybean processing plant, Derks Elevator Inc. sells raw corn and soybeans as well as a number of soybean products resulting from roasting and crushing. Read more about our products below:

Raw Grain
Derks Elevator Inc. buys, sells, and manages the trading of grain commodities including corn and soybeans. We analyze market trends, negotiate contracts, arrange transportation, and handle logistics.

Roasted Soybeans
Roasting soybeans for feed enhances their nutritional value by increasing protein digestibility and reducing antinutritional factors. It improves amino acid availability, energy content, and palatability. The process also destroys trypsin inhibitors, enhancing protein utilization in monogastric animals like poultry and swine.

Soybean Meal
Soybean meal is a highly nutritious feed ingredient for animals. It is rich in protein, providing essential amino acids necessary for growth and development. Additionally, it contains carbohydrates, fiber, minerals, and vitamins, making it a valuable source of energy and nutrients for livestock and poultry.

Soybean Oil
Soybean oil is primarily composed of fats, providing approximately 120 calories per tablespoon. It is a good source of vitamin E and contains omega-6 fatty acids. However, it lacks essential nutrients like protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Moderation and a balanced diet are crucial for overall nutrition.

Soybean Hulls
Soybean hulls are a byproduct of soybean processing and contain approximately 9% crude protein, 3% crude fat, 35% crude fiber, and 20% carbohydrates. They are low in digestible energy but rich in dietary fiber, which can contribute to digestive health and provide bulk to animal diets.
